Authorization Consent & Permission Scopes
Understanding the OAuth consent screen, openid, profile, and email scopes.
#The Explicit Consent Dialog (/oauth/consent)
Before an external application can access your identity, NSGO displays an explicit consent screen showing:
• Client Name and verified application icon.
• Official tool badge or verified developer status.
• List of specific permissions (scopes) requested.
• Privacy policy and terms links for the application.
You can approve access or cancel the request, returning safely to the client application without disclosing any data.
#Permission Scopes Explained
• openid (Core Identity): Confirms your immutable, non-reassignable NSGO ecosystem subject ID (sub UUID). This is mandatory for authentication and cannot be revoked without disconnecting the entire app.
• profile (Basic Profile): Grants read access to your public handle (@username), display name, avatar URL, and bio.
• email (Email Address): Grants access to your verified primary email address for communication and transactional alerts.
